Yesterday I had another music moment. So at the wedding, as I may have mentioned, there was a beautiful piano piece playing in the background during the actual ceremony. I could not remember the tune right afterward, but yesterday I suddenly got it stuck in my head. I sat down at the piano and translated the notes in my head to my fingers, and I really liked it, but I wasn't sure if it was actually what the wedding piece was.
I asked Katie what it was, and it turned out to be Satie's first 3 Gymnopédies (note CD tracks), and I had combined the 1st one with the 3rd one in my head when I figured it out--in the same key and everything. What made it even more touching was that I had been working on them with Rachel, and I saw her notes in the margin. That's why I recognized it and maybe why I remembered it pretty accurately.
