I'm sick of coming up with titles

We went to get our Christmas tree today. I'll post pictures when it's decorated; at the moment, it's sitting in its 11-foot glory in the corner of the living room, covered in strands of red, blue, green, and yellow lights. On the way up, we saw a middle-aged woman on a unicycle--going up highway 9. It was amazing. So we went up to the tree farm and cut the tree down as usual. I love the Santa Cruz Mountains. I feel like I've never taken advantage of living so close to the beach. I would if I were allowed to drive to the beach alone... -_-

Tomorrow I have my first interview with a Connecticut College alumnus. I'm not really nervous; it's really just a conversation, and there have been way more nerve-racking things in the past. But I obviously still hope it goes well.

I spent a few hours tonight packaging my art supplement. It took forever to address and insert materials into 6 envelopes.

I also discovered that my family owns a record-player and that it's been sitting the corner of the living room all my life. I can't believe I never knew. Unfortunately, it's not in great condition and only plays 78s. But I still think it's pretty cool. It looks kind of like this. That one has its lid open; ours didn't, which is why I never guessed that it would house a record player inside. Talk about hidden treasures. I feel like my family is running an antique shop out of our home.

Hmm, what else? Well, I had breakfast with Anna yesterday (chocolate chip pancakes, 2 eggs, and bacon -- yumm), coffee with Ankur in Milpitas, and then I went to go see Harry Potter (against my will) with the Schroeders and my parents. It was decent in the sense that i was actually able to gather what was going on, despite not seeing the last 3 movies. It was really good to see Ankur and Anna.

I can't believe that will be me next year. Next year at this time, I may be flying back to college after spending just a few days at home. Weird, and kind of annoying.

It would be funny if I ended up at Santa Clara, Stanford, or Berkeley. Those would certainly be convenient.

I have to go back to school tomorrow....yuck. At least I broke down and read all 20-some pages of Portrait. Like I need another stressor, in the form of scrambling for plot summary during English. My padre leaves for Vietnam tomorrow night (again).

Goodnight.
